Michigan Summers - Print
As a local Michigan artist, I jumped at the chance when I received a commission to make a Michigan painting. I wanted to evoke the feeling of summertime in Michigan, and what better way to do that than a summer seascape painting? While the subject of this painting is of my own imagination, it takes heavy inspiration and reference from when I was in Little Traverse Bay, a small bay opening to Lake Michigan. I loved the feeling when I was there, and wanted to capture it on canvas. The feeling of summer on Lake Michigan was the perfect inspiration for this commissioned piece, and I feel I was able to capture exactly what I was going for.
Whether it’s the sailboats floating in the distance, the dense northern forests, or the seagulls flocking overhead, this Lake Michigan painting captures the essence of summertime in Michigan.
